Having grown up on Long Island, NY, Jonathan had the opportunity to get to know and work with a very diverse population. As an adult, he ran his own business for many years until realizing his true passion: working as a therapist. In 2011, he graduated with an MSW from a local university and began working as a therapist in an outpatient substance abuse and mental health facility under the Northwell Health umbrella.

He worked with individuals and specialized in group work. Jonathan focused on and facilitated men’s and women’s recovery groups, provided group support for family members, and soon after starting at Northwell, Jonathan recognized the need for a specialized group for seniors, separate from the other groups with which he worked. He then became a primary force in the expansion of a cutting-edge senior recovery program, which was the only senior recovery program of its kind in Nassau County on Long Island. In his free time, Jonathan ran a winter season homeless shelter, supporting and assisting homeless men.

He has had the privilege of working with adult individuals, groups, and couples for the past twelve years. Within the past year, he chose to move to Maine, obtain a license to practice in Maine, and has had the pleasure of getting to know the area while being able to offer therapy to those in need. He is experienced in all aspects of mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, and trauma and is excited to be a part of the team at CoRecover to continue providing mental health support within the community.
