General FAQ

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Your first appointment will be an evaluation and assessment. You should bring your insurance card, a list of any medical or mental health conditions, medications and supplements, and allergies.

Do I need a referral from a doctor to start treatment?

If you plan to use your health insurance and your particular plan requires a referral from your primary care provider then yes, you might need a referral in order to get insurance coverage. Aside than that, a referral is not required.

Do you offer both inpatient and outpatient treatment services?

No. CoRecover is not an inpatient or residential treatment center. The RESET program is an intensive outpatient program that runs three hours per day, four days per week.

How much can I expect to pay for depression and anxiety treatment at CoRecover?

CoRecover participates with many of the major health insurance carriers and Medicare. Depending on your particular plan, you may have a deductible, a copayment, or coinsurance that is your responsibility. These very greatly and our experience staff can help to look into your plan and benefits and let you know what your responsibility may be. If you intend to self-pay the fees will ferry depending on what type of services you require. Our staff can help provide you with this information.

How do I know if I have a Substance Use Disorder?

If you and/or someone close to you is concerned about your use of alcohol or other substances, an evaluation by a professional can help determine whether there is a disorder, and whether treatment is indicated.

What is a dual diagnosis? What treatment options are available?

Dual diagnosis refers to a situation where a person may be struggling with a mental health issue while also dealing with substance use/addiction. Your care begins with an evaluation and assessment at which time an appropriate treatment plan will be developed with you. Depending on your needs, we can't provide medication, assistant, treatment, psychotherapy, and we also offer RESET, a structured intensive outpatient program consisting of group treatment three hours per day four days per week.

RESET Program FAQ

Learn more about our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in South Portland, ME.

What is the RESET Outpatient Program, and how long does it last?

RESET is a structured intensive outpatient program for treatment of substance use an addiction with or without a co-occurring mental health issue. Treatment consists of groups three hours per day four days per week. Depending on individual needs patients may remain in the program for 2 to 6 weeks. Treatment plans are individualized and groups are run by qualified, experienced treatment professionals, including our Medical Director, who is a board certified psychiatric and addiction medicine physician.

When it is appropriate and indicated, we also provide medication assisted treatment for substance, using an addiction, including alcohol, opiate, nicotine, and other substance use disorders. To find out if RESET program is right for you, you can schedule an evaluation with our psychiatrist.

Do I have to take time off work to attend the RESET program?

Most likely. Groups will meet for afternoons per week three hours each day. Depending on your work schedule, you might be able to work part-time while also attending the program. We will compete any necessary paperwork in order for you to take temporary time off in order to attend the program.

Do you offer support for families of those in recovery?

Yes! Since substance use an addiction impact families as well as individuals, we may include family members and/or significant others in your treatment if you so desire, and only with your consent.

Is Esketamine (Spravato) covered by insurance?

Depending on your individual plan, this treatment may be covered. If you have a deductible, copayment, or coinsurance, there may be a portion which you are responsible for. Our experienced staff can help investigate what your plan covers and what your responsibility may be.

Does TMS Therapy hurt? What does it feel like?

During TMS treatments patients feel a senses ation as though something is "tapping" on their head. Well, nothing is actually physically tapping on the head, the magnetic pulses generated create this sensation.

At first, because this is an unusual sensation, it can be a little jarring. Most people adjust through it rather quickly, and have little to no difficulty tolerating it after a short time. We can make adjustments and we do everything we can to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

Can I do TMS or Esketamine (Spravato) while also in the RESET outpatient program?

If these treatments are indicated and appropriate, then yes. Because we offer all of the services within the same space/location. It may be possible to schedule your treatments around the RESET program.
