Katrina L. Hockey, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC
Katrina Hockey, MSN, APRN, PHMNP-BC, is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, with training and clinical experience treating patients across the lifespan and across practice settings, from outpatient clinics to correctional facilities. Her clinical interests include treating patients with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders, using a holistic, patient-centered approach to care that may include medication, psychotherapy, and alternative treatment approaches, such as transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). She is Board-Certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association.
Ms. Hockey earned her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Walden University in Minnesota, graduating with high honors (4.0 GPA). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia. Since graduating with her MSN, she has completed training in the medication-assisted treatment of substance use disorders and TMS, and became certified as a TMS operator/technician. Her research interests include decreasing the stigma surrounding mental health and substance use disorders and improving patient access to care for mental health and substance use disorders.
Prior to joining the team at CoRecover, LLC., Ms. Hockey was the psychiatric nurse at Maine Correctional Center, working as a member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team to meet the holistic needs of clients impacted by mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. She has over five years of experience working with juveniles and young adults with mental health and substance use disorders in a juvenile correctional facility in Maine and has been recognized by the Maine Department of Corrections, in 2016, for her quick, professional response and life-saving measures in response to a critical incident.
Ms. Hockey is dedicated to working with and improving the health and well-being of patients and communities impacted by mental health and substance use disorders. Ms. Hockey is excited to join the CoRecover team and looks forward to working with and treating patients with mental health disorders, substance use disorders, and co-occurring disorders, using an individualized, comprehensive, holistic approach to patient care as a member of the CoRecover treatment team.
